The Latest On Aus, Leon Vynehall’s ‘Brother/Sister’

Although the record hasn’t enjoyed a full 24 hours of availability since its release today, the new 12’’ on the London-based, increasingly seminal house imprint Aus—operated within the hands of Will Saul—from Leon Vynehall, seems to be the early situated producer’s most realized release to date. The split Brother / Sister EP from the Brighton-based producer has a seeming similarity to the productions of the ceaselessly expanding deep house milieu (especially) from the U.K. (no hate on this matter), but the two tracks resonate with distinct character, I think especially on “Brother”. Not eschewing some of his familiar UKG tendencies, a prominent one on here being the subtle yet effectively rhythmic sub line, the track combines with ear-hooking, organic texture for a flavor that is alternatively enjoyable from floor functionality, though the track still stomps hard and has been apparently played out in a lot of DJ sets this year. Stream the track below and cop the record here.
